Infosecurity Europe 2023

Another year of Infosecurity Europe done and dusted. Following last year’s success, we headed back to the ExCeL London for Infosecurity Europe 2023, and the event certainly didn’t disappoint. The expo saw over 13,800 visitors, 330+ exhibitors and more than 200 speakers delivering over 90 CPE hours. We certainly learnt a lot at the event and we’re sure everyone else did, too!

As the continent’s largest gathering of information security experts, the three day cyber security event delivered some insightful talks, fantastic networking opportunities with some of the top names in the industry, and we certainly had fun (and raised money for NSPCC’s Childline) at the Cyber House Party.

The theme of Infosecurity Europe 2023 was about rethinking the power of infosecurity and encouraging visitors to consider what that means to them. Supported by talks from headline speakers Michael Johnson, Matthew Syed and Keren Elazari, we learnt to go for security gold, think outside the box, and explore the intersection of cyber conflict and politics.

The Origin Comms team returned this year to provide PR support for Infosecurity Europe 2023. From planning and strategizing, PR, comms and digital media activity leading up to the event, to media relations, content creation and PR support over the course of the three days, our team worked hard to help the Infosecurity Europe team deliver an even bigger and better event than last year.

Build Up To Infosecurity Europe 2023

Whilst the event took place in June, our work started way back in September where we started to implement a PR strategy that included content creation, surveys and polls, press releases, articles, video, podcasts, social media content and liaising with exhibitors, speakers, press, media partners and analysts, all to build up excitement around Infosecurity Europe 2023.

From the Infosecurity organisation team to other essential thought leaders such as the CISO advisory group, there was a big team behind the event and so it was important to ensure everyone was on the same page right from day one. This enabled us to align messaging and ensure content that was being released resonated with the event’s overarching themes and general branding.

Our job as the PR team behind Infosecurity Europe 2023 was to build a buzz around the event and entice as many people as possible to register.

Closer to the event…

As we got closer to Infosecurity Europe 2023, we pushed our PR efforts by reaching out to our extensive rolodex of journalists and analysts to help promote the event through press comms, press releases, media partnerships, regular liaison and regular features and articles.

Examples of some of the content released closer to the event includes this press release following a Twitter poll we helped the Infosecurity Europe team run to find out more about the community’s opinions on cybersecurity budgets and investments.

We also produced this piece on one of this year’s keynote speakers at the Women in Cybersecurity event, Danni Brooke. Danni is a former Met police officer and star of Channel 4’s Hunted and is a leading intelligence figure dubbed the ‘Undercover Mother’.

Throughout Infosecurity Europe 2023

Throughout the event, we operated out of the Press Room. We had over 130 press and analyst registrations in advance of the show, and with such a high number of press attending in-person on-site, we had our work cut out for us! In the press room we hosted some of the most influential journalists and analysts in the industry where we had some great conversations. We were also running around the show floor supporting some of our clients who were exhibiting including Menlo Security, Apricorn, Semperis and Osirium. Our Roving Reporter returned this year and was busy scheduling appointments across the show floor, getting as many interviews as possible. These will be used across various social channels to exhibit the success of this year’s event, as well as to promote Infosecurity Europe 2024 (hopefully see you there!)
