Infosecurity Europe 2020 – bigger and better!

Infosecurity Europe 2020

The event, which takes place at Olympia, London, from 2-4 June 2020 has been one that we have attended (and represented clients at) for a number of years, but 2019 was a whole different ball game altogether!

Origin Comms was selected by Infosecurity Group, to deliver the PR and digital marketing strategy to raise awareness of Infosecurity Europe 2019, increase attendance overall, and showcase the outstanding high-level conference programme planned for the event. After a lot of blood, sweat and tears, AKA 9 months of hard work and determination, the event was a massive success.

Not wanting to blow our own trumpet, but we will – the team more than doubled the event coverage, achieving a whopping 3,501 mentions of Infosecurity within 6 months, with a total circulation of 396 million!! The team not only smashed all targets, but in addition, Origin introduced a ‘roving reporter’ to the event, conducting 42 interviews and doubling the on-site film coverage.

The success of the event was a real testament to what we can do as a team, and gave a true representation of our depth of knowledge of the tech and cybersecurity industry. So much so, that Origin has secured the account once again and been chosen to represent the event for a second consecutive year in 2020.

Origin Comms will be responsible for maximising awareness prior to and during the event, collaborating with the organisers to help shape the conference programme, as well as engaging with the media, driving the social media and supporting digital marketing activity.

The team have already kicked off the pre-show PR activities, and despite our triumph in 2019, we’ve taken our experience at last years’ event – what worked well, what not so much, and looked at how we can continue to maximise content, and add value with additional activities and services.

One of the greatest challenges we faced in 2019 was not only PR’ing the event, but ensuring every one of the 600+ exhibitors were kept happy and provided the opportunity to PR themselves too. Managing the flow of content and cross-channel communications was a fulltime role in itself. The team were fantastic at engaging with exhibitors to generate content before, during and after the event. This was achieved through blogs, by-lines and video content produced by both Infosecurity and the newly introduced ‘roving reporter’. In 2020 this process will be further streamlined and expanded to allow for smoother content delivery.

We generated a huge amount of social media activity with our dedicated duo working alongside Infosecurity Europes’ own social team, sharing content, live feeds and happenings at the event, and allowing attendees and members of the press to make the most of their time at the event.

As this year celebrates 25 years of the event, we’ve already engaged Infosecurity Europe’s social following and asked what they see as having been the greatest driving force in cybersecurity over the last 25 years. Evolving threats and hacks have had the biggest impact on moving the cybersecurity industry forward as well as better technology. This years’ event will of course consider each of these topics in the event programme and activity.

There will be plenty of opportunities at Infosecurity Europe 2020 for visitors to hone their skills and their strategies and explore cutting-edge innovations and companies.

The team are all guns blazing and excited to share what Infosecurity Europe 2020 has in store. It will be hard to top the 2019 event, but it won’t prevent us from trying!
