NTT Security Appoints Matthew Gyde as CEO

Former Dimension Data executive to lead security business at “exciting time”

NTT has appointed Matthew Gyde as NTT Security’s Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 17 June 2019. In his new role, Matthew Gyde will be responsible for leading the security business as it transitions into the NTT operating company starting on 1st July 2019.

Matthew’s career in cybersecurity spans almost 25 years across client environments, carriers, manufacturers as well as systems integration and services companies. He joins NTT Security from its sister company Dimension Data where he has held several leadership roles since 2006. Most recently, he was Group Executive of Security where he developed and executed Dimension Data’s global strategy and maintained overall profitability of the security business.

Prior to joining Dimension Data, Matthew was the Sales Director at SurfControl Asia, a cloud based content control company. He also worked at Secure Computing in various capacities ranging from Technical Director for Asia right through to Regional Sales Manager for ASEAN.

Commenting on his new role as NTT Security CEO, Matthew says: “I am honored to have this opportunity to lead the security business. My job now is to deliver against our security strategy and value proposition which positions intelligent cybersecurity as central to NTT in helping our clients ensure they are secure by design.

Matthew, who replaces Katsumi Nakata, concludes: “I am excited to be working with the fantastic security management team but I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Katsumi all the best in his next role and to thank him for his support and advice in helping me transition into mine.”

Matthew Gyde will be reporting into Jason Goodall, NTT Ltd’s CEO. Jason comments: “As someone who has worked closely with Matthew over the past several years, I am confident he is the right person to ensure we have a sustainable and profitable security business. He has proven over time that he has an unrivalled understanding of security so I am delighted that I will get to continue working with him.”
